Crimson tongue:  the tongue is dark red, darker than red tongue.  It indicates both exogenous and endogenous diseases.  In the exogenous disease, it shows the invasion of pathogenic heat at the Yin level.  In the endogenous disease, it indicates insufficient Yin Qi resulting extreme fire.
