Curdling and Greasy
Source: Editor: Read:
(3) Curdling and Greasy: curdling fur refers to a thick coating with grainy top resembling texture of soft bean curd.
It can be wiped off. This is caused by excess of Yang heat, steaming up the stale stomach Qi. This often indicates presence of turbid-phlegm, indigestion. If the fur has fine and dense grain with a greasy film covering it, and that it cannot be wiped off with strokes, this is known as greasy coating.
This is usually caused by weakened spleen losing its function, growing turbid dampness and when the Yang Qi is overwhelmed by the Yin pathogen. This is usually seen in stagnation of phlegm and turbid dampness.
